Octavian Guţu (born June 27, 1982 in Kishinev, Moldavian SSR, Soviet Union)[1] is an Olympic swimmer from Moldova who swam for his native county at the 2004 Olympics. He has also swum internationally for Romania.

His dual swimming nationality caused problems for him in 2008, when the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) ruled that he could not represent Moldova at the 2008 Summer Olympics having swum for Romania at the 2007 World Championships.[2][3]
